Product Description

High Performance Valve Springs

 Fits: FE Ford Passenger Vehicles to 1971, 352, 390, 406, 410 & 428

If you plan on installing these on a 72 & up FE Ford pick-up truck engine, the rotators used on the exhaust will need to be replaced with the same type of retainers as used on the intakes. 72 and up FE pick up truck engines have a shorter spring and a rotator in the exhaust position. The rotators will need to be replaced to allow for the same springs to be used on both, intake and exhaust. If you have a FE pick up, be sure to check if the heads have rotators on the exhaust.

All the pre 1972 passenger heads should use the same retainers on both, intake and exhaust and use the same length springs. Use these springs for heads which match this description.

This is a very popular drop in performance spring. Machine Work is Not Required.

Those planning on installing a mild to warm performance cam in their FE will want to upgrade the springs.

Although it’s better to purchase a spring kit with retainers and locks, for those who want to use stock retainers and locks, they can order just the springs.

This is a good drop in performance spring for hyd flat tappets and will work well for cams with between 204 to 224 degrees duration @ .050" and with up to .580” lift.

These can be used with mild RV cams up to warm street cams.

Want to verify compatibility with your cam? Send us your cam specifications or the brand and part number and we'll look it up.

     Specs:

  • Single Spring with Damper (as shown in picture)
  • 1.460" OD
  • .980" ID
  • 110 Lbs @ 1.825"
  • 261 Lbs @ .500" Lift
  • 291 Lbs @ .580" Lift
  • Max recommended lift- .580"

Measurements Required: Installer must verify target valve spring installed height is correct during installation.

*Note: Pick-up truck engines starting in around 1972 (360/390) will have a shorter spring with a rotator (thick retainer) on the exhaust. These engines will need to replace the rotators with either the same type of retainers used on the intake or with aftermarket retainers which provide similar installed heights.  These HP springs are not intended to be used in Heavy Duty trucks such as but not limited to 361/391 engines.
