Here is a universal type valve spring height micrometer, it works for applications with retainers 1.240" or bigger such as those used in our GT40 & GT40P spring kits.

If you know how to read a micrometer, this tool makes setting up valve spring heights a snap.

Manufactured from steel and hard chrome plated, if not abused, this tool would last a lifetime.

Anyone installing an aftermarket spring kit will need one of these to properly complete the installation.

For those who will only need to use the tool once, they can re-sell it when they're done.

The mic can be ordered w/ optional insert ring so it can be used w/ both, Std and Beehive retainers. (See option box towards the top of this page)

*NOTE 1: This tool will not work on iron vortec heads. For a Vortec mic, see other other listings. The issue all the universal mics have on vortec heads is when the mic is fully collapsed, the ID of the mic contacts the guide boss and holds it up from sitting on the spring base. When the mic is held up higher, it limits the space required to fit the locks into the retainer. See our other listings for a mic which is modified to clear the guide boss on vortec heads. The mic's which are modified for vortec make lock installation/removal much easier.

*NOTE 2: Although this tool is indexed with markings from 1.400" - 1.800", it will measure to 1.900" without difficulty. Realistic functional range is: 1.400" - 1.900"
