These aluminum cam buttons work very well at controlling cam walk.

No moving parts, just a solid round nose button.

A simple yet effective design.

There are several reasons a builder may select a solid button over a Torrington type.

1. Low cost
2. Available in both short and long style.
3. When clearance between cover and button is too tight, a solid aluminum button can be machined to size.
4. Altering a Torrington button length is more complicated.
5. No moving parts- Zero failure rate.

Q&A

Q- Can I use this on my 86 up factory roller cam engine?

A- No.  Gen II SBC w/ factory roller uses a thrust plate, so there is no need for a thrust button. They also have a smaller center hole diameter in the timing set. Even if you wanted to install one, it would not fit.
